It's Almost Summer Mix

Summer is getting close and the weather today was (and still is) beautiful - high 80's and blue skies. I loved being able to sit outside in my bathing suit and listen to some music. So I randomly decided to make a mix of some of my favourite songs of summer and sun. These songs are, to me, perpetually "summer"(plus most of them have summer or sun in their titles, but that's just an added bonus).  Listening to them makes me think of those summer sunrises, sunsets - purples, pinks, blues and oranges all intermixing to create that summer sky. Plus that summer heat comes to mind and just that feeling of...the sun on your skin, the rays sinking in...

What are some of your favourite summer songs?

Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes

Brothertiger - Summer House

Com Truise - Sundriped

Dirty Gold - California Sunrise

Washed Out - Feel It All Around

Delorean - Stay Close

Millionyoung - Hammock

Crystal Fighters - In The Summer

Tame Impala - Sundown Syndrome

Caribou - Sun

Delorean, I think I'm in love with you

Last year I came across an EP by a group unknown to me. It was the Ayrton Senna EP by Delorean. I was intrigued as to who these people, who named themselves after a car from the Back To Future movies, were. After hearing 'Deli,' I was more than hooked. I forgot about them for a while until 'Stay Close,' popped up on the interwebs. Utterly fantastic. This is what I was looking for, a band them meshed everything into one bowl of awesomeness. So who are Delorean?

Delorean hail from Spain and are an alt dance/synthpop group who have three studio albums (their latest is 2010's Subiza) and two EP's under their belt (their first was 2005's Metropolitan Death). Subiza has been well received and is an album I highly recommend. It's so different in the best possible way. Get out and get it! I implore you!

Oh, and they do kick-ass remixes as well, including Mystery Jets "Half In Love With Elizabeth." What more could you ask for?
